The team, meanwhile made up of 45 employees, creates and designs high-precision injection molding tools as well as multi-cavity tools with low cycle times by intelligent combination of various production processes. By being present in medical science, electronic engineering, cosmetics, automotive industry and the biochemistry branch this modern company is independent of seasonal and branch fluctuations.
There have already been reactions to the increased customer requirements in recent years. An After-Sales Department comprising of ten employees is exclusively responsible for maintenance and repair of customer-related tools. The injection molds are completely demounted and purified by ultrasonic cleaning afterwards. Functional tests of the tools as well as the immediate repair of detected defects make works perfect.
The management focuses on flexibility and creativity. So, seven subcontracting jobs have been created at a customer within the last two years. The employees, working in three shifts, are exclusively responsible for maintenance and repair of customer tools. The high specialization enables them to repair identified defects as quickly as possible, and thus prevent possible production downtimes.
The continuous study, watching and analysis of the markets let the company react to changes within very short time. The well-structured engineering team develops and designs injection molding tools for the medical industry with low cycle times and a high number of cavities at ProEngineer work stations, among other things. Therefore, the increased requirements of the customers can be met, for instance the cost reduction of a molded part.
Even foreign customers already benefit from the Thuringian quality. After a very successful trade fair presence at the Rosmould 2008 in Moscow, Werkzeugbau Ruhla GmbH anticipates an increase of its clientele of the central and east European market. The demand for after-sales service has grown here as well. Existing maintenance contracts with the customers do not only include maintenance on a regular basis and repairs. Employees fly to the customer with the required material to repair tools at the site in case of need.
The company is competitive in the long term and guarantees an optimal priceperformance ratio due to systematic investments in automated machinery and plants linked with the gradual improvement of the company processes. An absolute novelty and a unique project within Europe is the production line installed in spring 2008.
It was the objective of the line to increase the own ram-EDM and electrode milling capacity without hiring any additional staff. By linking two AGIEEDM- machines, one Mikron-HSC milling machine for processing graphite, one Fanuc-Robot of HandlingTech, the Identification pince-nez with flash ident, and the ZeissVista measuring device the production time of electrodes has been minimized by 70%. Furthermore, the expensive archiving of electrodes is omitted because of the ultra-modern production line. Another big advantage of implementation is the additional quicker erosion by hyper-spark-technology, by which the capacity of EDM is increased by 30%. The high flexibility, vital for after-sales service, is guaranteed by a material lock station for electrodes and work pieces.
The continuous improvement of knowhow and the permanent further development of multi-component and multicavity tools with low cycle times are seen by the company as an important step for securing the economic future of Germany as production site.
The company presents at the fair Euromold in Frankfurt in Hall 9.0 Stand A123 this year.
