Solarexpo 2013 Confirmed as The Key Event for The Solar B2B Community in Italy
Leading Companies in Photovoltaic Technologies and Authoritative Experts From Around The World to Take Part
- On the agenda, hot topic for the future of the photovoltaic sector
- Technological innovation, market trends, internationalisation strategies and new solutions for the green finance: these are the elements for sustaining the new phase of the sector's development on which the event will focus
Almost a month from its opening, Solarexpo is preparing for its 14th edition, as part of the inauguration of The Innovation Cloud (Fiera Milano-Rho, May 8th-10th), with confirmation of the participation of important companies in all the technological spheres of the photovoltaic sector as well as an array of authoritative experts at the international level. Currently, there are more than 400 registered exhibitors, representing companies and brands, and more than 300 speakers who will take part in the conferences that are seen as the added value of a trade fair long regarded a shop window for innovation and a key specialised event for the entire solar business community.
Among the Italian companies at the show, technological excellence in photovoltaic equipment and advanced components will be confirmed by the presence of industrial leaders of the calibre of ABB, Elettronica Santerno, Enel, Bonfiglioli and ACT Angelantoni Clean Tech, to mention just a few. Leading foreign exhibitors from the sector will also be taking part, including Yingli, Solarworld, Power One, Jinko Solar and SMA Solar Technology.
"For the entire professional solar community, Solarexpo is a key appointment for keeping up to date and understanding current trends. In such a particularly difficult and delicate economic situation for the sector as the current one, especially in the manufacturing context, the role of the trade fair is increasingly important in achieving a critical mass and drawing up new business models in order to embark on a renewed period of growth and greater competitiveness at the international level," said Luca Zingale, founder and scientific director of Solarexpo. "There are reasons for optimism that Solarexpo wants to pass on. The Italian market is in fourth place in the world classification for the production of solar energy and among the leaders at the European level. We have a heritage of industry, technology and professional resources to be cherished. This difficult phase will pass and those companies that are able to produce innovation and look to new emerging markets will be successful."
As is the tradition at Solarexpo, the trade fair will be accompanied by a series of top level technical-scientific events offering market intelligence tools and professional updates on priority issues for the photovoltaic industry that can sustain the sector in a new phase of growth and development.
The Global Solar Summit, the annual international conference on solar energy promoted by the Global Solar Alliance (Solarexpo, Solar Power International and SNEC PV Power Expo), will open the exhibition on May 8th and 9th. The event will see debates and speeches on key aspects of the photovoltaic market by expert figures with global credentials, including analysts like Bloomberg New Energy Finance and IHS, the four most important associations at the international level, EPIA, SEIA, SEPA and APVIA, and industrial players like Enel Green Power, GCL Solar Energy and Power-One.
In order to encourage the opening up of the national green industry to new and emerging markets, Solarexpo has also recently launched the Internationalization Hot Spot, a new project that envisages a series of market intelligence initiatives, matchmaking instruments and the chance to meet foreign commercial delegations and consulates from the most attractive markets for renewable energies that will present investment opportunities for the businesses in those countries. In tandem with the conference, there will be opportunities for professional updating, such as, for example, "Emerging PV Markets", a workshop reserved for export managers presented by IHS.
On the day of opening, the national convention will also be held, organised by the Solarexpo Research Center, on photovoltaic energy in Italy following the fifth Conto Energia in order to take stock of the issues of own use, net metering, tax deductions and technological hybridization as opportunities for new business models. This will be a chance for companies and technical institutions to reflect and compare notes on the new dynamics of domestic and foreign markets.
Storage, disposal of photovoltaic modules at the end of life, safety and prevention of fire risks in plants, intelligent networks, smart city and e-mobility are some of the other aspects that will be considered in the scheduled conferences. "Question Time on the Energy Account", organised by GSE, is not to be missed as an opportunity for the sector's operators to put direct questions to experts from the utility provider on all the legislative and regulatory developments.
Solarexpo also intends to encourage the green industry and green finance to come together through appointments devoted to the exploration of new financial instruments, able to assist the sector in this post-incentives phase of development.
The complete schedule will soon be available on the site www.solarexpo.com
SOLAREXPO IN BRIEF
Solarexpo is one of the most important exhibitions specialising in solar energy at the global level. Starting with the first edition way back in 1999, Solarexpo has achieved increasing success over the years with the public and exhibitors. Moreover, Solarexpo has pursued a constant commitment in favour of guidance, discussion and information about the dynamics of the industry and the market at the global level, with the organisation of conferences, seminars, courses and connected events that have seen the participation of prestigious Italian and foreign speakers.
The Solarexpo experience forms part of The Innovation Cloud, the new exhibition platform at the international level created in order to embrace the entire spectrum of technological innovation in support of a low-carbon economy, and to promote all the possible opportunities for synergy. A multi-technological concept combined with a series of conferences at the highest level are the strong points of The Innovation Cloud in furnishing the sector with useful instruments for guidance on the corporate business model.
