At 9.30 h on Monday, 12 October, IFRA Expo will be officially opened by the President of the Republic of Austria, Dr. Heinz Fischer, and by the Austrian Prime Minister, Werner Faymann. All exhibition participants and media representatives are cordially invited to attend the opening ceremony in the foyer of the Reed Messe.

The tour (in the English language) begins on 4 October in Frankfurt am Main and ends on 10 October with a visit to IFRA Expo in Vienna.

Pre-Expo Study Tour: "Multimedia Newsrooms in Europe"

The WAN-IFRA Pre-Expo Study Tour takes participants to innovative newsrooms in England, Norway, Germany and Austria that have already taken the step into the multimedia era - with print, video, mobile service, social networks and communities (www.ifra.com/studytours). Newspapers Today - Focus Sessions at IFRA Expo

At our various Focus Sessions, colleagues and specialists will report about their project experiences as well as present Best Practice cases. Each session lasts about two-and-a-half hours and provides major insights into the topic concerned. The participation fee of EUR 290 plus VAT per session includes a free season ticket to IFRA Expo. The combined fee for all 4 sessions is from EUR 1,000 plus VAT.

Tutorial for International Newspaper Color Quality Club

This Tutorial will familiarise participants with the rules of the INCQC competition, the leading printing quality benchmark (www.colorqualityclub.org). The newspaper printing standard will be explained in detail and deep insights given into quality management methods and measuring techniques. On Thursday, 15 October, 9.00 to 13.00 h (in the English language).

Presentation of the winners of the XMA Cross Media Awards

The winners of the highly respected WAN-IFRA competition (www.ifra.com/xma), organised this year under the motto "Cross-Media Branding and -Design", will be presented in a special XMA display, open on all exhibition days.
