First-time Ifra exhibitions also in Russia and India

Viennese charm awaits the newspaper industry: IfraExpo for the first time in Vienna

(PresseBox) (Darmstadt , ) This autumn Vienna will be the venue for the first time for the IfraExpo: from 8 to 11 October 2007 the "annual event of the newspaper industry" will take place in the new Reed Messe exhibition halls (www.ifraexpo.com und www.messe.at). In June, Ifra will hold its first ever exhibition in Moscow and in September an IfraExpo will be held for the first time in Chennai, India.

The Austrian capital is one of the leading conference cities in Europe and therefore easily accessible. As the Gateway to the East and with its tourist attractions, Vienna offers the ideal framework for IfraExpo 2007 as a platform for international decision-makers in the newspaper industry to exchange their ideas and share experience.

Five months before the exhibition opens its doors, already some 240 exhibitors have booked a total of 14,000 m² stand space and registered to participate in the leading exhibition for the newspaper and media industries that will be held for the 37th time. An up-to-the-minute and complete list of exhibitors can be downloaded from www.ifraexpo.com. The Solution Park again offers space and time for communication between exhibitors and visitors. The Focus Sessions, several of which were fully booked up last year, will accompany the IfraExpo and provide practice-oriented insights into the topic of "Newspapers Today". The winners of the second media convergence competition, Ifra XMA Cross Media Awards 2007, will be presented with their "Community" projects in Vienna.

Last October, more than 10,000 newspaper managers from 87 countries attended IfraExpo 2006 in Amsterdam where they displayed interest in the solutions - including many "IfraFirsts" - of a total 336 exhibitors from 25 countries who showed their products and services on a net stand space of 14,776 m². This represented the highest number of exhibitors since the first Ifra exhibition was held in 1970.

Solution Park - special applications: In the IfraExpo Solution Park, innovative suppliers present their tailored solutions to current topics, such as: logistics and distribution, mobility, telecommunication and E-Commerce, content management and editorial systems, workflow management. The presentations in the Solution Park are free of charge for all visitors.

Focus Sessions - Newspapers Today: By selecting individual Focus Sessions, the Expo visitor can prepare "success packages" to suit his personal interests and time schedule. Colleagues and specialists will report in a programme of lectures about their project experiences and "Best Practice" case studies from the areas of cross-media publishing, advertising and marketing, dispatch and distribution, newspaper production, business and management - in the conference languages: English and German (optionally also French, Spanish and Russian, subject to sufficient demand). More detailed information concerning the Focus Sessions, for which a participation fee is charged, will become available shortly at www.ifra.com/events.

Ifra XMA 2007 - Communities and Citizen Journalism: Ifra XMA Cross Media Awards 2007 are presented for projects from all over the world that succeed by innovative means in intensifying the relations with the readers as well as between the readers themselves. The main focus here is on projects that creatively link the printed media with the possibilities of digital media in order to achieve maximum customer loyalty. Last year, for the first time nine XMA winners (among 55 participants from 29 countries) were selected and honoured in Amsterdam. For more information about XMA, see www.ifra.com/xma.
