WABCO Awarded Recertification as a New and High Technology Enterprise by Government Authorities in China
(PresseBox) (Shanghai, China, )The renewal of WABCO's certification reaffirms WABCO's position in China as a valued supplier of new as well as high technology for commercial vehicle control systems that help original equipment manufacturers to develop and build safer and more efficient trucks, buses and trailers. It also confirms how WABCO has continued to grow its local capabilities for innovation and it further recognizes the company's continued investments in research, development and manufacturing in China.
"WABCO's technology leadership and market success in China are rooted in our unique capabilities in technological and product innovation, particularly as WABCO has pioneered the overwhelming majority of 'firsts' in the commercial vehicle industry," said Leon Liu, President, WABCO Asia, referring to WABCO's track record of inventing and introducing to market the industry's first anti-lock braking system (ABS), first automated manual transmission (AMT) system, first electronic braking system (EBS), first electronic stability control system (ESC), and the first advanced driver assistance systems, among other WABCO innovation and technology breakthroughs.

Headquartered in Shanghai, WABCO China has over 1,500 employees including local engineers. Its new product development center is located in Shanghai.
