New member of VNG Supervisory Board

Extraordinary General Meeting appoints Matthias Warnig member of Supervisory Board

Leipzig, (PresseBox) - At today's Extraordinary General Meeting, the shareholders of VNG - Verbundnetz Gas Aktiengesellschaft (VNG) elected Matthias Warnig as a new member of the Supervisory Board. Warnig has been Managing Director of Nord Stream AG headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, since 2006.

The election of a new Supervisory Board member was necessitated by the resignation of Erik von Scholz, Chairman of the Management Board of GDF SUEZ Energie Deutschland AG, with effect from April 20, 2010.

VNG - Verbundnetz Gas Aktiengesellschaft (VNG) is an international group of companies and a reliable supplier of natural gas from Russian, Norwegian and other sources to major users and municipal distributors in Europe. VNG has been active in the gas industry for over 50 years. VNG is Germany's third largest gas importer and ranks among Europe's top ten. In 2009, VNG with its workforce of roughly 700 employees delivered 183 billion kWh of gas and generated sales of 4.8 billion euros.
