Mit einer Bildrate von 250 fps (500 fps mit Binning) und ihrem integrierten 1 GHz-DSP (8.000 MIPS) von Texas Instruments ist die VC4458 die rechen-stärkste Smart Kamera der neuen VC44xx-Serie von Vision Components. Sie eignet sich besonders für den Einsatz in Hochgeschwindigkeitsapplikationen, z.B. bei der Kontrolle von Passermarken in der Druckindustrie. Ihr 1/3"-CCD-Sensor bietet eine Auflösung von 640 x 480 Pixeln. Standardmäßig ist die VC4458 mit einer RS232- und einer Ethernetschnittstelle, einem externen Trig-gereingang, der selbst bei hoher Abfragefrequenz jitterfreie Bildaufnahmen ermöglicht, sowie einem Hochgeschwindigkeitsencoderinterface ausgestattet. Ein SVGA-Videoausgang sowie je vier digitale SPS-I/Os gehören außerdem zur Ausrüstung der industrietauglichen Smart Qfkcbsl.
