HCA Heathcare UK Signs Deal with Visage Imaging
The HCA healthcare group, one of the world's largest private healthcare providers, has signed a deal to purchase Visage® 7 as a centrally deployed advanced visualisation solution for their hospitals and clinics in the UK. As a multi-site organisation with 6 hospitals and 9 outpatient clinics in the UK, HCA heavily utilises cross-site reading within their group. HCA provides referral services to more than 3000 consultants and general practitioners with reporting distributed over all sites. HCA are growing quickly and by the end of 2011 they will have dramatically increased the number of scanners in their facilities. Their plan is to have 19 MRI and 15 CT scanners in operation in addition to numerous other modalities including PET-CT. As a successful and rapidly growing organisation, it became more and more apparent that their existing modality workstations had become a major bottleneck. This is because so many clinicians need access to advanced visualisation functions which were only available on a limited number of modality workstations. By choosing the Visage 7 Thin Client universal viewing solution HCA will be able to provide enterprise wide access to advanced visualisation tools plus 2D, 3D, and 4D viewing from the clinicians existing PC's (and Mac).
"It is the advanced functions that interest us the most and made the decision for the Visage Imaging Thin Client an easy one" says Kaye Bonython, Programme Manager Imaging Informatics & OSL for HCA Healthcare UK. The main points here were the flexibility of the Thin Client and how simple it is to deploy both inside and outside of the organisation. This and the fact that the existing workflow does not have to be changed in order to provide the additional advanced visualisation functionality made for a convincing offer. "Part of the evaluation process was an assessment of the system by our key radiologists. They were overwhelmed by the intuitive user interface that Visage provides. Most of them were using the system fluently within minutes.",Ms Bonython continued. "We are confident that we have found in Visage a company that listens to its customers and is driving innovation faster than others. This makes their solution future-proof for us and our growing organisation"
