Venafi, the inventor of and market leader in Enterprise Key and Certificate Management (EKCM) solutions, today announced its alignment with and membership in the UK Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA)® The ISSA is a not-for-profit, international organization of information security professionals and practitioners. ISSA provides educational forums, publications, and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill, and professional growth of its members.

The primary goal of the ISSA is to promote management practices that will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information resources. The ISSA facilitates interaction and education to create a more successful environment for global information systems security and for the professionals involved. Members include practitioners at all levels of the security field in a broad range of industries such as communications, education, healthcare, manufacturing, financial, and government.

Matt Poulton, Venafi UK Sales Director said, "The ISSA provides a valuable service to information security professionals, facilitating peer-to-peer knowledge sharing in a focused environment about lessons learned in the ever changing security landscape. The ISSA events and forums focus on industry best practices and the challenges faced in organisations around keeping information secure-through the best people, processes and technologies."

"Mismanaged encryption keys and certificates have emerged as the latest IT security risk -one with significant consequences. As encryption keys and certificates proliferate, many organisations blissfully continue to mismanage these assets, ignoring the tangible risks that doing so poses to security, compliance and operations. If not addressed, these risks can damage reputations and cost millions in lost revenue, SLA breaches and non-compliance fees. I am extremely excited about Venafi's membership of the ISSA and look forward to working closely with the chapter on security best practices on these topics."

Tim Holman, ISSA UK President, said, "We greatly appreciate the support of sponsors such as Venafi, that enable us to run regular, high profile events in and around the London region. We enjoyed hearing Venafi speak at our most recent event on July 14th on board the HMS President, where we heard about their security expertise around key and certificate management".

ISSA operate a guest membership programme, where your first meeting is free - The next ISSA-UK meeting will be themed around Data Protection, where we will hear from the Information Commissioner, Christopher Graham and other speakers on September 8th 2011 in London.
