vom 7. bis 12. Juni fand in Leipzig die internationale Leitmesse für Rettung, Brand- und Katastrophenschutz sowie Sicherheit - die Interschutz 2010 - statt. Als größte unabhängige europäische Prüfinstitution im Bereich Brandschutz stellte VdS Schadenverhütung gemeinsam mit der vfdb (Vereinigung zur Förderung des Deutschen Brandschutzes e.V.) zahlreiche Innovationen vor. Zu den Besuchern des VdS-Stands gehörten u. a. Bundesinnenminister Thomas de Maizière.
