Galvano computerizes order control
Galvano is a wholesale trade in bathroom requirements. Over a large network of different dealers Galvano sends from Eindhoven all possible necessary parts for composing bathrooms. In 2005, Galvano bought 4 plateau elevators for automatic order picking in the small goods area. With the purchase of this Van Riet Rollerconveyorsystem the process within the small goods area has changed in a way that the largest pressure now lies on the inspectors, who check and repack the collected orders. In order to find a better solution for the control process Van Riet MHS has been asks for support The container system at Galvano offers the possibility to transport the containers from two directions to the inspectors. From one side directly from the combined storage and modular shelving area and from the other side from the computerized order picking area. The containers are offered to the inspectors on priority and from there on they are consolidated into containers with the orders from the large goods area. Main savings of this system are floor space and more efficient turnaround times of the control department.
Galvano has integrated a modular developed system that, if necessary , can be extended easily in the future .
