Erfolgreiches Team: Prof. Dr. Felix Capanni, Prodekan der Fakultät Mechatronik und Medizintechnik an der Hochschule Ulm, und Prof. Dr. Marc-Eric Halatsch, Leitender Oberarzt an der Klinik für Neurochirurgie des Universitätsklinikums Ulm, haben für ihren gemeinsamen Forschungsantrag im Rahmen der Ausschreibung "Innovative Projekte/Kooperationsprojekte" des Ministeriums für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst Baden-Württemberg die beantragte Förderungszusage über 151.800,- € erhalten.
Das Forschungsprojekt hat zum Ziel, ein von ihrer Arbeitsgruppe entwickeltes und in vitro (außerhalb eines lebenden Organismus) getestetes LED-Implantat weiter zu optimieren. Bei diesem Implantat handelt es sich um einen Prototyp, der von einem Mikroprozessor gesteuert wird.
