Zum 27. Mal werden am Montag, 10. November, die Merckle-Forschungspreise verliehen (Großer Hörsaal der Medizinischen Klinik/Beginn 16 Uhr). Preisträger sind in diesem Jahr Dr. Richard Schlenk (Klinik für Innere Medizin III), Dr. Bernd Baumann (Institut für Physiologische Chemie), Prof. Dirk Volkmer (Institut für Anorganische Chemie II) sowie die Arbeitsgruppe Professor Peter Dadam, Professor Manfred Reichert und Dr. Stefanie Rinderle-Ma (Institut für Datenbanken und Informationssysteme).

»Lösen Materialien unsere Energieprobleme?« ist das Thema des Festvortrags von Dr. Louis Schlapbach, Professor für Experimentalphysik an der Eidgenössischen Technischen Hochschule (ETH) Zürich und Direktor des EMPA-Instituts für Materialforschung und Technologie Zürich.
