NEW TYAN PRODUCTS FEATURED ON GREEN IT AND POWER SAVING

Double 1U and flexBLADE™ deliver doubled performance in a density space with lower TOC

(PresseBox) (Hannover, ) Green IT and Power Saving is not just the theme of Cebit 2008, but they are also the future trend in the IT industry. By implementing key concepts of Green IT and Power Saving, TYAN, the leading Server/Workstation platform provider, will unveil the Double 1U and flexBLADE product lines that will deliver increased performance in a density space with lower total ownership cost.

The Double 1U series is a unique design which equips two nodes of UP/DP server/workstation motherboards in a single 1U chassis space. The Double 1U series is based on a creative mechanical design with a built in high efficiency PSU and will deliver higher performance, lower energy consumption, and also lower total ownership cost. It is a solution for high density applications such as Clustering, High Performance Computing, and various memory intensive applications. Two models will be unveiled at Cebit 2008, the Tank GT24 B5377 and the Transport GT28 B2935. The Tank GT24 B5377 will support a single Intel® Xeon® 5000/ 5100/5300/5400 dual/quad core processor while the Transport GT28 B2935 will support up to four AMD Opteron 2000/2300 series processors and features 32 DDR2 DIMM slots to optimize the memory bandwidth. All these features are built in a 1U space.

flexBLADE is TYAN s new product targeting blade server market. The TYAN flexBLADE delivers a dedicated computational platform with multiple configuration options in a self contained form factor. The flexBLADE can be utilized as an individual desk-side cluster or departmental resource or easily rack mounted and scaled out as an HPC solution. Capable of a wide range of configurations, the versatile flexBLADE is comprised of a single chassis form factor with up to 5 dual socket blades, configurable as a cluster, SMP, hybrid-combination, or small server farm. Supporting the full range Next Generation AMD Opteron processors, the platform can scale from a cool and quiet low power 1500 watt departmental solution up to a robustly configured 3000 watt compute powerhouse. TYAN is also showcasing a new 10-node 4U blade barebone system, the FX71 series. The FX71 series will be built with Intel Xeon DDR2 based server platforms and with AMD Opteron based server platforms.

Environmental impact is also one of the key elements of TYAN s product and development. TYAN will continue to meet and exceed the objectives of the RoHS Directives and to lead the industries trend in producing and developing space, energy, and environment efficient Server/Workstation platforms.
