New Molex mega-fit power connectors feature market-leading 23.0A current density and patented terminal design - now available from TTI Inc.

5.70 mm pitch, six points of contact for long-term reliability: suits consumer home appliances, networking and telecoms equipment, industrial machinery and commercial vehicle applications

Maisach, (PresseBox) - A new family of interconnects from Molex that delivers current-density of 23.0A is now available from TTI, Inc., the world's leading specialist distributor of passive, connector, electromechanical and discrete components. The tight pitch and row spacing of Molex Mega-Fit Power Connectors provides more power per linear and square millimeter than competitive mid-range power interconnects. Mega-Fit Power Connectors also feature a patented split-box terminal design with six independent points of contact, extending long-term reliability through secondary current-path redundancy and allowing the system to be "hot plugged" at 48V/23.0A for up to 30 cycles.

The Mega-Fit Power Connector family also incorporates many features found on other Molex interconnects, including fully-isolated header pins and receptacle terminals to protect against possible damage during handling and mating. Polarized housings prevent mis-mating and to ensure secure retention when mated, Mega-Fit Power Connectors feature positive housing locks which deliver an audible click to confirm correct mating.

Electrical characteristics are 600V maximum, contact resistance of 6Ω, current interrupt rating 48VAC/DC, 23.0A maximum. Physical characteristics include high-conductivity copper contacts, with gold plated contact areas and tin solder tail areas. Headers are glow-wire and low-halogen rated to UL 94 V-0. Durability is 200 mating cycles and operating temperature range -40degC to +105degC.
