From June 2020 the thin mini ITX board EMX-C246DP from avalue will be available at TRS-STAR GmbH in Stutensee. The extra thin board is equipped with an Intel C246 chipset and thus supports not only Intel® Core ™ i7 / i5 / i3, Pentium and Celeron® CPUs of the 8th and 9th generation, but also Intel Xeon E-2200/2100 processors. This ensures a very high scalability in terms of computing power, which makes it interesting for a wide range of applications.

With the help of 3x HDMI and 1x dual-channel 18/24-bit LVDS (eDP BOM option) connections, up to three displays can be operated independently. Resolutions of 3840 x 2160 pixels with 30 Hz are possible via the HDMI connections.

Two 260-pin 2400 / 2666Mhz SO-DIMM sockets allow the RAM to be expanded up to 64 GB. The board also supports ECC memory. The functionality of the mainboard is supplemented by a generously dimensioned interface. In addition to 2x SATA III, 3x Gigabit LAN, 3x RS232, 1x RS232 / 422/485, avalue also offers buyers 10x USB - including 3x USB 3.1 Gen 2, 1x USB 3.1 Gen 1, 2x USB 3.0 and 4x USB 2.0. In addition, the EMX-C246DP Mini-ITX board has a PCIe x16 interface, a 16-bit GPIO, and 3x M.2 slots for one M / B / E-Key card each. This means, for example, that a WiFi card (2230), one mobile phone + GNSS including SIM card slot (3042/2242/2260/2280) and an M.2 SSD in the form factors 2242/2260/2280 can be operated. The 6W audio amplifier is controlled with the Realtek ALC662 chipset.

The system is characterized by a small footprint and very low overall height. The working temperature range extends from 0 ° C to 60 ° C. The board is particularly suitable for industrial use in machine vision applications, in automation and control systems as well as media centers, mini PCs and telematics systems. Due to the compatibility with Intel Xeon E processors, ECC memory and the support of RAID 0,1,5,10, it is also particularly suitable as a workstation for network devices, storage solutions, servers and edge servers.
