transtec on Expansion Course

Operative earnings increase by 43.5 percent

Banbury, Oxfordshire, (PresseBox) - transtec AG has today published its interim report for the first three quarters of 2010. The company has recorded sales of 30.5 million euros which is a 6.2 percent increase on last year's figures. Incoming orders are 11.4 percent up on those from last year. From the period between January 1 and September 30, 2010, operative earnings (EBIT) increased by 43.5 percent on last year to minus 0.83 million euros (adjusted for currency effects). In 2009, this figure was down to minus 1.46 million euros.

transtec AG has recorded a positive growth in incoming orders, turnover and earnings. The corporate group has profited from the sharp rise in IT investments of business customers in the seven European markets. The company's strategic restructure has generated extremely positive results and will be completed by the end of 2011.

In the virtualisation and high-performance computing solutions division, transtec generated an increase in turnover of 137 percent over last year's figures for the first nine months of the year.

Hans-Jürgen Bahde, CEO of transtec AG, comments: "Our new corporate strategy is taking effect. We managed a 34.5 percent increase in sales from the second to the third quarter. This is the biggest growth recorded between the second and third quarters in the entire 30-year company history. In comparison to the third quarter of 2009, the figure is up by 34.3 percent. transtec has thus managed to turn the trend around. Our range of products and services is optimally positioned on the market for us to profit enormously from the growth on the IT market. I'm confident that we'll continue on this expansion course and we'll close 2011 with positive results".

Since the start of 2010, Hans-Jürgen Bahde has been driving ahead with the listed company's strategic restructuring plans: transtec specialises in the development and project business with customised solutions for complex IT processes and high-performance computing. Target groups include universities, research institutes and development-related SMBs. By 2011, transtec is set to expand its high-performance computing division to include Cloud Services. The new services are aimed at companies using HPC clusters but who are not interested in installing and operating the clusters themselves. The transtec group produces and sells IT products such as PCs, workstations, storage systems and servers under the Lynx brand. Lynx IT-Systeme GmbH is a subsidiary of transtec AG and exclusively supplies the IT trade and system houses in Germany.
