New Managing Director at trans-o-flex: Oliver Rupps succeeds Wolfgang Weber
After studying business administration at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar near Koblenz, the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Lyon, France and Texas A&M University, USA, he worked in various management positions in the fields of material procurement, logistics and corporate planning at Mercedes Benz AG and DaimlerChrysler AG. He subsequently served on the Management Board of the IT provider ilas AG, as Chairman of the Board of Erwin Steinle Internationale Spedition GmbH & Co. KG and as Managing Director of the automobile component supplier ixetic GmbH. Rupps was most recently the sole Managing Director of Südmo Holding GmbH in Riesbürg, which, among other things, produces components and equipment for the pharmaceutical industry.
The board of directors of the Weinheimer logistics service provider will continue to include Kai Schmuck (51) and Ulrich Schupp (45). The contract of Schmuck has recently been renewed. He will stay responsible for Marketing and Sales. Schupp is responsible as managing director for the area of Finance since April 2011.
trans-o-flex Schnell-Lieferdienst GmbH
The success of the Europe-wide operating trans-o-flex Logistic Group is based on three pillars: 1. trans-o-flex Schnell-Lieferdienst offers a full-coverage network for the efficient and safe transportation of parcels and pallets (combi-freight) all over Germany. This also includes numerous additional services, such as the transportation of hazardous goods without being limited to small quantities. At the same time trans-o-flex, in its capacity as shareholder and partner of the Eurodis network, provides full-coverage combi-freight services in 34 European countries. ThermoMed provides multinational pharmaceutical distribution in Europe with daily deliveries to 7 countries including Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Denmark, and France via the ThermoMed European Network. 3. Additional logistic services from storage and picking/packing to value-added services, such as the set-up service for sales displays or electrical appliances, up to customer-specific transport networks are developed and implemented under the umbrella of trans-o-flex Logistik Service. In 2010, annual sales of the Group, which has a workforce of approximately 1,600 employees, amounted to ca. € 524 million.
