trac-x Trading Results December 2009

(PresseBox) (Leipzig, ) On the European internet platform tracx transport capacity trading totalled 184.7 GWh/h per day in December (December 2008: 28.6 GWh/h per day).

This includes 4.7 GWh/h (December 2008: 17.7 GWh/h) traded in the dayahead section of tracx, where 108 of the placed dayahead entries were successfully sold.

At the crossborder point Bunde/Oude Statenzijl (entry) the average price for traded dayahead capacities amounted to € 8.86 per MWh/h per day. At Eynatten/Raeren (entry) it amounted to an average of € 7.84 per MWh/h per day. Dayahead capacities at Emden NPT were traded for an average price of € 10.50 per MWh/h. Moreover, dayahead capacities at the network point Ellund (entry) were offered on tracx for the first time in December as well.

In the longterm section of the platform a total of 180 GWh/h per day (December 2008: 10.9 GWh/h per day) was traded in December. Altogether, one of the longterm entries offered on tracx was successfully purchased. December's longterm capacities were placed on the platform with contract periods ranging from 28 days up to three months.

Since the platform's trading start in March 2005, the overall trading volume on tracx has reached a total of 57,574.1 GWh/h per day. This includes 226.1 GWh/h per day from dayahead trading.

tracx Transport Capacity Exchange GmbH was established in order to create a transparent and nondiscriminatory platform for trading secondary natural gas transport capacity. It has operated an online trading platform for European gas transport capacity since March 2005. Registered shippers can trade secondary capacity rights across Europe and in the transmission grids of the following network operators: Dong Energy Pipelines GmbH, Eni Gas Transport Deutschland S.p.A, E.ON Gastransport GmbH, Erdgas Münster Transport GmbH & Co. KG, EWE NETZ GmbH, Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services GmbH, Ontras - VNG Gastransport GmbH, Thyssengas GmbH and WINGAS TRANSPORT GmbH & Co. KG.

In addition to longterm trading, firm dayahead capacity rights can be traded on the platform, as well. They can be traded at the European crossborder points Bunde/Oude Statenzijl, Eynatten/Raeren, Ellund, Emden EPT, Emden NPT, Bochholtz, Medelsheim, Oberkappel, Vreden, Waidhaus and Wallbach as well as at the German interconnection points Reckrod, Bunder Tief, Lampertheim, Drohne, Emsbüren, Steinbrinck und Steinitz.
