Profinet cable – a new addition to the TKD-programme

All-round improved cable for the industrial Ethernet

With the introduction of the new cable catalogue TKD, a supplier of special and standard cables, is able to complement the product series Kaweflex with the new addition of Profinet cable.

This cable was specially developed for high electrical and mechanical demands and is optionally available for fixed installation, flexible or continuous moving operations.

Profinet cable builds the nerve cord in the industrial Ethernet and allows the vertical and horizontal communication from the management level to the field.

Produced to withstand the rough surroundings of the automation and drive technology and, at the same time, a maximum data transfer rate, Profinet cable is a specific improvement on the classical Ethernet cables used in office areas.

Due to the growing popularity of Profinet, higher specifications are placed on to the cable. Transfer rates up to 100 MBit/s allow for optimal industrial communication.

TKD Profinet cables are available with a robust conductor cross-section (AWG22). This allows safe signal transition and mechanical robustness over long distances. All Profinet options allow optimal EMC protection with shielding made of aluminium-clad compound-foil and additional braided shielding.

To cover different application areas, the new Profinet cables with polyolefin wire insulation and PVC, or more specifically, polyurethane outer sheathing, provides for fixed, flexible and continuous moving operations, e.g. drag chain use.

Whilst the Profinet cable for the fixed installation is able to work with wire inner conductors, tinned stranded wires supply the required specification for the flexible version.

The drag chain usable TKD Profinet cable is equipped with a strand design in bare copper and has an inner sheathing made of TPE, which allows the highest flexibility. This makes it possible to have long standing periods under continuous bending stresses.

For the drag chain version the outer sheathing is made of green polyurethane (PUR).

The new Profinet cables, which rounds up the versatile bus cable assortment from TKD, are TÜV (Technical Inspection Agency) certified and comply with the relevant VDE and UL regulations respectively.

The perfected industrial Ethernet cables are available within a 24-hour delivery service, which is carried out and guaranteed by the highly modern logistics centre of TKD, based in Nettetal.
