Danach bietet Mittal Steel der ThyssenKrupp AG an, im Falle einer Übernahme von Arcelor Dofasco zu übernehmen. Dies gilt für den Fall, dass das Übernahmeangebot von Arcelor für Dofasco erfolgreich abgeschlossen wird.
