The World's First DIN70121 Charging Spot Tester

(PresseBox) ( Berlin, Germany, )
As, for the first time, the world has agreed globally on standards for electric vehicles and the corresponding charging infrastructure, test systems are required to ensure their interoperability for a successful roll-out.

Auronik, akkuteam and Testing Technologies have partnered for the mission to develop a "golden device" for the validation of interoperability between electric vehicles and their supply equipment.

The so-called Stressor series of e-mobility test systems is now being launched by its first product, the DC.chargeSTRESSOR - a conformance tester for direct current charging stations according to DIN70121 compliant communication. It facilitates manufacturers to develop standard compliant charging spots without the need of a real electric vehicle for testing purposes.

Future products will cover testing of electric vehicle communication compliance as well as ISO15118 testing for direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) charging.

ISO/IEC 61851, ISO/IEC 15118 and DIN 70121 are the most prominent specifications in this context with regards to the communication between electric vehicles and the charging spots.

TTCN-3

TTCN-3 is an internationally standardized test language with a powerful textual syntax supporting all kinds of black-box testing. It was developed at the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and has established itself as a global, universal testing language.

TTCN-3 has grown into a 10 part standard with four extension packages to date. Application of TTCN-3 has been widened beyond telecommunication systems to areas such as the automotive industry, internet protocols, railway signaling, medical systems, and avionics.

There has been witnessed a rapid uptake of the language in Asia - especially in India and China -where already more than 40% of all testing services worldwide are provided today. TTCN-3 has further strengthened its position in standardization and is used increasingly for certification and acceptance testing.
