David Singer Named VP and General Manager of Telmap Inc.; U.S. Office Relocates to New York Area
Former Microsoft Executive Will Lead Mobile Navigation Company in North & South America
As the senior U.S.-based Telmap executive, Singer will oversee sales, marketing, operations, customer support and all other business functions in the U.S., Canada and South America, including an immediate staff expansion being undertaken in conjunction with the relocation of Telmap's U.S. offices from Chicago to the New York area. Singer reports directly to Telmap CEO Oren Nissim. "The market for navigation and location-based services like ours is exploding in North and South America as wireless carriers and handset manufacturers look for ways to add value for their customers," Nissim said. "Hiring Dave Singer will enable us to leverage these opportunities to increase our market presence and help us become a dominant player in the region."
"Telmap Navigator product offers key differentiators and technology advantages that position Telmap as a leader in the navigation and location-based services space," Singer said. "We are currently in discussions with virtually every Tier 1 wireless service provider and handset manufacturer in the U.S. and expect a rapid expansion as we ramp up our operations."
Singer's background includes three years at Microsoft, most recently as Senior Director, Worldwide Partner & Solutions Management, Public Sector. Before joining Microsoft, Singer founded and served as President of GlobalLink Consulting, which supported and developed solutions for global communication, technology and software companies.
He previously served as the Senior Director of Sales, Distribution and Business Development for Qwest Communications, Vice President of Sales and Distribution/Western Region for McCaw Cellular/ AT&T Wireless Services, and was General Manager for the Silicon Valley operations at Honeywell.
