Alstom chooses Telefonica as its strategic partner for mobile services
Alstom and Telefonica sign a framework agreement for the provision of mobile services across seven countries in Europe and Brazil / Delivering streamlined management of mobile operations and facilitating economies of scale
Telefonica Multinational Solutions will coordinate the end to end delivery of customer service management, development and post-sales service in the countries covered by the agreement, coordinating Telefonica Business units and partners in those countries.
The contract signed incorporates more than 17500 lines across 7 countries, of which 12000 have been migrated within this agreement.
Jacques Ferré, Director Telecommunications, and Daniel Drouyau, IS&T sourcing Director at Alstom Company stated that, "Alstom has selected Telefonica's solution not only because of the competitive offer, but due to Telefonica's ability to offer centralised contract management, its technological and service capabilities and its presence in the various countries where Alstom operates".
For Alstom, this deal signifies a centralized coordination of its wireless services (voice and data) under a single operator, enabling it to streamline the management of its mobile operations, delivering cost and quality control within a unified framework agreement with the capacity to accommodate existing economies of scale and facilitate future expansion.
