Die Kommanditanteile wurden von der Peter Döhle Schifffahrts-KG und der MS „Cordula" Schiffahrtsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG im Wege einer Sachkapitalerhöhung gegen Ausgabe neuer Aktien eingebracht. Hierfür hat HCI von dem ihr zur Verfügung stehenden genehmigten Kapital Gebrauch gemacht und unter teilweisem Ausschluss des Bezugsrechts eine Kapitalerhöhung auf rund 32,4 Mio. Euro beschlossen.

HCI hat bereits Anfang 2016 die Mehrheit der Anteile an der König & Cie. Gruppe übernommen. Mit dem Erwerb der Ernst Russ Gruppe erweitert HCI nochmals die von ihr kontrollierte Schiffsflotte und stärkt ihre maritime Dienstleistungssparte.
