Stamp9261: New ARM9 development kit

(PresseBox) (Berlin, ) The Berlin hardward manufacturer taskit has put together a new starter kit for the development of mobile devices and embedded computing solutions. The starter kit contains all hardware and software necessary for operating the Stamp9261 CPU module. On a card measuring just 53 x 38 mm, this postage-stamp sized CPU core combines an Atmel AT91SAM9261 micro-controller, 64 MB SDRAM and 64 MB Flash memory. You can connect a wide variety of interfaces and peripherals to the 200 processor pins that are available.

Stamp is connected to the evaluation board by means of StampAdapter in a modular manner. StampAdaptor has an Ethernet controller and is included in the starter kit. Direct access to the processor pins from the StampAdaptor is possible via the hole grid. Additional devices, such as a TFT display, can be connected directly. The evaluation board offers versatile connectivity in the form of USB 2.0 (2x host, 1x device), JTAG, RS232 with DSUB-9 connector and one freely available DSUB-25 connector. The SD/MMC card slot and a 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet connection ensure that you can freely expand storage capacity. A 3 x 4 key matrix keyboard and rotary knob with push-button enable input.

The included software CD contains the Linux operating system, the U-Boot boot loader, the standard GNU toolkit including compiled tool chain and a digital handbook for Stamp. For developers who are not familiar with Linux and want to continue working in a Windows environment, the CD contains "tide" (taskit integrated development environment). This development tool was developed specially for programming Linux applications for embedded systems based on taskit products. It is based on Eclipse and supports creating and managing C/C++ applications.
