Systar Extends OmniVision Suite with Service Capacity Forecast
Already used by several clients, this new report allows them to be proactive by anticipating business needs, planning IT budgets and charging back internal customers for the resources actually consumed.
Unique in the market, Service Capacity Forecast allows IT managers to make simulations in order to avoid contentions or saturations and take into account phenomena linked to seasonality or unusual periods such as sales periods in retail, holiday periods in transport or yet the end of month for HR applications.
Service Capacity Forecast is a service-oriented report to measure the allocated capacity and resource consumption of predefined services, in addition to the availability indicators already included in OmniVision. A service is a set of heterogeneous resources allocated to an application or group of applications. A service may group workloads, VMs, clustered servers or load-balanced servers. In an IT context, a service may include resources by technology silo such as virtualized environments.
Systar's OmniVision is a powerful tool that delivers decision-support reports to monitor performance, capacity management and capacity planning. It enables IT managers to confidently manage physical and virtual infrastructure and communicate objectively with internal customers and outsourcers. Through OmniVision, companies get the most out of virtualization and cloud computing by gaining visibility into these complex environments, limiting waste through resource optimization and anticipating future needs while ensuring the best quality of service.
"IT managers want to align IT resources and business requirements and thus need solutions that enable them to take into account the needs and specifics of internal customers," says Jean-Michel Monnier, Presales Director, Systar. "This new report demonstrates the focus of Systar's solutions on alignment between IT and business services".
Service Capacity Forecast will be presented exclusively through demonstrations at Systar booth during the French annual convention of the Infrastructure and Production Managers Club (CRIP) on June 18 and 19 in Paris.
