Steinert and Pellenc Selective Technologies cooperate on sales and service
“Shared claim to technological leadership leads logically to cooperation”
Steinert Elektromagnetbau GmbH, Cologne, and Pellenc Selective Technologies of Pertuis, France, have agreed on a cooperative venture for sales in France, Germany and Austria. The new arrangement is to take effect immediately. German plant operators are demanding alternatives in the area of packaging materials and substitute fuels in particular. Such alternatives are now on offer from Steinert and Pellenc ST together, especially in the area of NIR technology. Pellenc plants utilize high-resolution systems based on near-infrared (NIR) spectrometry to recover high-purity plastic materials with proven efficiency. Steinert technicians who have completed in-depth training in France will now provide services for Pellenc plants in Germany, thereby eliminating the language barrier. The vital spare parts will, as is normal for Steinert, be dispatched from Cologne within one working day.
"The partners complement each other perfectly, as there is practically no overlap between their respective portfolios," explains Dr. Urich Kohaupt, Head of Marketing and Sales for Steinert. "Our shared claim to technological leadership in the different areas lead logically to cooperation, which will bring both companies an increased market share." Dr. Laetitia Paveau, Head of Sales for Germany and Austria at Pellenc, adds, "The cooperation will enable us to increase our penetration of the German market together with Steinert as an established technological leader."
According to Kohaupt, the cooperative sales venture will strengthen Steinert's market position in France beyond its core activity of metal recycling. Steinert technology could more efficiently define the metal recovery process and generate increased volumes - i.e. more added value from recycling. "The main advantage will ultimately be for the customer, who will be offered state-of-the-art technology on an even broader basis. This technology will further boost both productivity and profitability for the customers," is the unanimous verdict of the two companies.
Kohaupt continues: "Pellenc's name is highly renowned internationally, and we now intend to raise its profile on the German market. At the same time, we will also use the cooperation to strengthen the presence of our products on the French market." The foundation of the promising sales cooperation between Steinert and Pellenc is the two companies' shared objective of offering high levels of customer utility and efficiency. "It would not have made sense for us to extend our developments in sensor-based sorting by developing our own NIR system at a high cost," states Kohaupt. "Pellenc's machines are simply too good."
