Now accepting applications for the 2015 SolarWorld Junior Einstein Award

Bonn, (PresseBox) - Applications are now being accepted for the SolarWorld Junior Einstein Award 2015. The oldest and most prestigious prize for young scientists in the photovoltaic industry will be awarded this year for the 10th time. The honor offers not only an attractive cash prize, but also opens many doors for young scientists: As part of the award ceremony, winners will meet important personalities in the photovoltaic industry.

"It is important to us to give young scientists a perspective in this high tech industry, because young scientists have the ideas to move solar technology forward and take it to the next level," says SolarWorld CEO Dr.-Ing. E.h. Frank Asbeck.

Dr. Stefan Braun from the University of Konstanz, the winner of the SolarWorld Junior Einstein Award 2014, says: "It's a great feeling when the work in which you have invested so much is recognized from the outside and your thesis is selected for a renowned international research prize. That's why the prize ceremony was such a special moment for me. It also gave me an opportunity to make international contacts and meet interesting people. I'm very grateful to the organizers of the SolarWorld Junior Einstein Award for this."

Students in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, renewable energy, engineering, chemistry, physics, process engineering or similar areas who have completed a thesis focused on solar technology or a related area are eligible to apply, if the scientific thesis was written in German or English between June 2014 and April 2015. The deadline for applications is April 24.

This year, the prize will once again be presented at a celebratory event during the solar trade show Intersolar in Munich, Germany.
