Last Call for SolarWorld Junior Einstein Award 2016!

Application for SolarWorld Junior Einstein Award 2016 open until April 29

The renowned SolarWorld Junior Einstein Award, which comes with 5,000 euros in prize money, will be awarded for an outstanding scientific thesis on photovoltaics or related subjects. University students studying engineering, regenerative energy, chemistry, physics or another area of studies surrounding photovoltaics can apply.

To be eligible, a dissertation, thesis or doctorate must deal with topics related to photovoltaics; those include subjects in systems technology, nanotechnology, general energy technology, crystallography and engineering. The paper must have been evaluated between April 2015 and April 2016. The closing date for entries is April 29, 2016. A jury of renowned photovoltaic experts will select the winner. The prize will be awarded in a ceremony during the Intersolar trade show in Munich, Germany.

In addition, the SolarWorld Einstein Award will be awarded to a figue who has promoted global use of solar energy in a special way. This honor has been awarded since 2005. In the past few years, international personalities from science, politics and society have been honored – among them, Hermann Scheer, Klaus Töpfer, Martin Green, Antonio Luque Lopez, Rupert Neudeck, Muhammad Yunus and Bertrand Piccard.
