Auf der Messe HMI in Hannover präsentiert Softing die Version 3.0 seiner OPC Easy Connect Suite. Die OPC Easy Connect Suite 3.0 verfügt jetzt über eine integrierte Server-Funktionalität für OPC und OPC UA und ermöglicht somit die Kommunikation zu Classic OPC- und OPC UA-Clients über ein gemeinsames Interface. Sicherheitsmechanismen, die für die OPC UA-Kommunikation neu integrierten wurden und auf dem Austausch von Authentifizierungsmerkmalen zwischen Server und Client beruhen, schützen die OPC-Kommunikation vor unbefugten Zugriffen. Bei der OPC Easy Connect Suite 3.0 wurde außerdem erstmalig Softings Multiprotokoll-OPC-Server in die Middleware integriert.
