Signalion and N.A.T. show World's First Tunable RF Module in AMC Form Factor

Dresden and Sankt Augustin, Germany, (PresseBox) - AMC based RF-transceiver which supports 200MHz to 2.7GHz @ 1.25 to 20 MHz bandwidth designed for software defined radio systems for various applications in wireless communications such as WiMAX or LTE.

Signalion GmbH, Germany and N.A.T. GmbH, will show the world's first tunable RF module in AMC (advanced mezzanine card) form factor, the AMC-SRRM, in Barcelona on the Mobile world Congress (MWC2011) at N.A.T.s booth (hall1, 1B01).

Signalion's Software Defined Radio Wide Range Radio Frequency module AMC-SRRM combines a complete tunable RF transceiver with digital base band interface for realization of different wireless communication systems. Signalion's AMC-SRRM is a full RF transceiver in AMC form factor for various wireless applications such as Wimax or LTE, which can be used in any µTCA system. Highlights are

- supported wide frequency range from 200MHz to 2.7GHz @ 1.25 to 20MHz bandwidth,
- modulation schemes up to 64QAM which enable data rate up to 150 Mbps,
- different lab and field front end module options
- programmable FPGA included to support various applications and interfaces (GigE, SRIO, PCIe, XAUI, CPRI/OBSAI)

The AMC-SRRM is the world's first off-the-shelf module in AMC form factor for RF processing. It comprises one transmitter and one receiver path. Beside the RF processing it contains AD and DA converters as well as a digital processing unit for front-end processing tasks. Particular care has been taken to provide means for synchronization to realize MIMO systems with a virtually unlimited number of antennas.
