Performance and flexibility tipped the scales: Orkla Foods Sverige opts for SIG Combibloc
Flexible filling machine paves the way for increase in production and new product ideas
Johan Linné, Plant Manager at Orkla Foods Sverige Kumlafabriken: "The new filling machine from SIG Combibloc has enabled us to significantly increase our production volume. The performance of the machine, coupled with an unrivalled flexibility in terms of formats, volumes and the variety of products that can be filled, was the crucial factor in our decision to switch to filling technology from SIG Combibloc. With the successful start we are open for converting more carton filling machines to the SIG Combibloc filling technology in the next few years".
Flexibility brings new perspectives
The format, volume, product and decor flexibility of the SIG Combibloc filling machines enables food manufacturers to keep production flexible and cost-effective. With the CFA 712 filling machine, Orkla Foods Sverige is able to fill products in the combibloc and combifit formats - an output of up to 12,000 carton packs per hour is possible. And the machine can do this in several different volumes and with any decor required. This means products can be optimally positioned: precisely as required to fit the market and the relevant target group. For all combibloc and combifit formats with the same base dimensions, switching between different fill volumes takes just a few minutes. With the CFA 712, six different volumes can be filled at Orkla Foods Sverige.
Peter Hedin, Key Account Manager Scandinavia at SIG Combibloc: "We're very proud to have found in Orkla Foods Sverige a new and very ambitious customer. The product flexibility of our filling machines provides the basis on which Orkla Foods Sverige can confidently forge ahead with developing new products to supplement its existing product portfolio. In addition to classic beverages, with the newly installed standard SIG Combibloc filling machine Orkla Foods Sverige can also fill more viscous food products such as smoothies or dessert sauces. And the machine can even handle products containing fibres and particulates".
Orkla Foods Sverige employs more than 1,500 people. Headquartered in Eslöv, the company manufactures at eight sites in Sweden. Orkla Foods Sverige belongs to the globally operating Norwegian Orkla Group, which has more than 28,000 employees world-wide.
