Cabling technology for the construction of optical networks

new cabling system for the construction of optical networks is extending the product range of the Siemens Industry Automation Division. The fiber optic lucent connector (FO LC) cabling system consists of single-mode and multi-mode cables as well as LCs and supplements the Simatic Net portfolio. The multi-mode cables, consisting of two glass fibers, can span distances of up to four kilometers. Single-mode cables, on the other hand, consist of four fibers, enabling two device connections to be established in one cable. They achieve ranges of up to 26 kilometers.
