Siemens has appointed Pedro Miranda (50) from Portugal new head of Siemens One. With Siemens One, the company offers its customers tailor-made solutions from a single source. Miranda will assume his new post in Munich at the beginning of November, as the successor to Thomas Frischmuth, who is retiring.

"The needs of our customers are our number one priority. One of the main ways in which we can increase customer satisfaction is through Siemens One: by bundling our offerings throughout the company, we can supply individual solutions from a single source" said Peter Löscher, CEO of Siemens AG. Miranda's task will be to expand the Siemens One business which particularly means to harmonize and strengthen Siemens AG's worldwide and global Account Management in order to gain market share in the most valuable customers.

Miranda, who was born in Lisbon and trained as an engineer in the USA and specialized in Siemens Germany, has already contributed substantially to various Siemens One projects worldwide, especially for complex infrastructure for airports, hospitals and cities. In 2006, for example, he developed a technical infrastructure solution for an integrated health campus at the state of the art Hospital da Luz in Lisbon, in partnership with the hospital's operator, the Espírito Santo Saúde investor group. A total of seven of Siemens' units were involved in this project.

Previously, Miranda was CEO Industry Sector in Portugal, and outside Siemens he worked for General Motors in the US and Europe as a production engineer and for Nissan Motors in Portugal as a service director.
