SEMIKRON reorganised in 2014 with supervisory board
The shareholders have emphasised that the SEMIKRON group should remain a solely family-run company in the future.
Brief biography of the members of the new supervisory board:
Prof. Dr. Yasmin Fargel:
Business administration department of Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences Nuremberg, specialities: human resources, organisation, gender studies. Also works for BMW Group AG in the area of HR strategy. Author of a series of specialist articles and books on the key themes of strategy and management, as well as on HR management in China.
Dr. Felix Hechtel (chairman):
Solicitor, partner in the law firm Beisse & Rath, Nuremberg. Specialist solicitor for commercial and corporate law. Member of the first senate of the Bavarian solicitors' disciplinary tribunal (Anwaltsgerichtshof).
Prof. Dr. Bertram Fischer (deputy chairman):
Solicitor, public auditor and tax consultant. Partner at PKF Sozietät Dr. Fischer. Member of the administrative board of the Institut der Wirtschaftsprüfer (IDW - Institute of Public Auditors). Honorary professor specialising in company taxation at Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences Nuremberg.
Prof. Dr. Hermut Kormann:
Former chairman of the board of Voith AG. Honorary professor in management science at Leipzig University, specialising in corporate management in family companies.
Senator h.c. Martin Schmitt:
Managing partner in Schmitt+Sohn Elevators. Honorary senator of Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences Nuremberg.
Prof. Dr. Josef Weber:
Former director of technology and development at Zollner Elektronik AG. Professor at Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences.
Prof. Dr. Dr. habil Enno Weiß:
Managing director of CF Consilio Forte GmbH, management consultancy, research and teaching in the areas of innovation management, rationalisation management and general management. Author of a number of monographs and essays on innovation management, lean management, organisation and governance.
SEMIKRON International GmbH
SEMIKRON is active worldwide and primarily manufactures power electronics components and systems for the mid-range power segment (approx. 2 kW to 10 MW). Applications include variable speed industrial drives, automation engineering, welding systems, and lifts. Further application areas include uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), renewable energies (wind and solar power), and electric/hybrid vehicles (commercial vehicles and forklift trucks). The family business is based in Nuremberg. It was founded in 1951 and now employs over 2,900 people around the world. An international network of 30 operational companies with production locations in Brazil, China, Germany, France, India, Italy, Korea, Slovakia, South Africa, and the US guarantees fast and comprehensive on-the-spot service for customers.
