Nur rund 47% der IT-Entscheider antworten mit Ja auf die Frage, ob die oberste Unternehmensführung das Thema IT-Sicherheit zur Chefsache erklärt hat. Dieses Ergebnis brachte die Studie IT-Sicherheitscheck 2008 der secunet Security Networks AG hervor. Manager aus Handel und Finanzdienstleistungsbereich kümmern sich mehr um die Sicherheit Ihrer IT. Sie liegen dabei mit 61% und gut 55% über dem Durchschnitt. Im produzierenden Gewerbe hingegen interessieren sich im Schnitt nur zwei von fünf Geschäftsführern, wie es um ihre IT-Sicherheit bestellt ist.

Die aktuelle Auflage der secunet Online-Umfrage konnte 881 Teilnehmer aus verschiedenen Branchen und der öffentlichen Verwaltung verzeichnen.
