Screen Showcases Digital Label Printing and Flexo CTP Applications from ITS portfolio of products at Labelexpo

(PresseBox) ( Amstelveen, )
At Labelexpo in Brussels on 23-26 September, Screen Europe (Stand 9F45) will be demonstrating three technologies that highlight the company's broad portfolio of products. In addition to its flexo platesetters, Screen will show concepts for high-speed digital printing of paper labels as well as a prototype of a new digital press for printing on to a much wider range of materials including PET and ultra thin laminates.

Screen is committed to developing solutions for the production of many different types of labels and the key benefit of the yet to be revealed prototype will be an ability to print an extended colour gamut including special colours and metallic foils on to a wide range of substrates. Screen believes that this device will be the ideal machine for producing short-run labels where no compromise on design or print quality can be accepted.

For high-speed paper labels, the Truepress Jet520 is the ideal product, with print speed up to 128m per minute

The Truepress Jet520 inkjet web press uses Screen's unique colour management skills and a specially developed pigment ink to produce vibrant results that can be used for a wide range of applications including labels.

The roll feed enables high-volume print runs and can handle material up to 507mm wide, at a quality that far exceeds that available with similar machines on the market. The piezo drop on demand printheads allow for extremely fine control of the ink drops which generates extremely smooth gradations.

The flexibility of the Truepress Jet520 has led to it being installed in more than 100 companies worldwide for a variety of applications including direct mail, books, transactional documents and newspapers.

Screen's flexo platesetter, the FX870, will be in full operation at Jet Europe on Stand 11R60. The second generation FX870II is the first machine in the world to offer a maximum resolution of 4,800 dpi as a standard feature. This high resolution significantly improves the smoothness of curves and diagonals and its reproduction of fine lines and small text is outstanding.

It gives superior output quality in a variety of tasks such as optimal mounting of many different media including resin plates, as well as higher production efficiency and consistency.

A larger version of the FX870 that can image flexo plates up to 1,524mm wide was recently announced by Screen.
