For many years the S.KO COOL has remained in pole position in the top-seller list for deep-freeze semitrailers. However, for Schmitz Cargobull the term "cooling unit" means much more than just the vehicle itself.

Whereas until now refrigerated trailers, refrigerating units, temperature recorders, measured value encoders and trailer telematics systems have been regarded as "stand-alone" devices, the new Schmitz Cargobull refrigeration unit records all the relevant data in one integrated element. With its digital temperature recorder, the integrated trailer telematics system provides a constant monitoring of the technical properties of the vehicle refrigeration unit and the load. The data are supplied to the freight carrier and his customers via the "TrailerConnect®" trailer telematics system portal. It is precisely this certified verification of the temperature data on a "just in time" basis in accordance with DIN EN 12830 via e-mail to a PC or a smartphone on delivery and a definable archiving period which eliminates the need for an inconvenient print-out of the temperature data and their allocation to the correct delivery note at the loading ramp. In addition, effective cost control when considering the "total costs of ownership" can be generated extremely easily. The technical aspects of the Schmitz Cargobull refrigeration unit have been optimally matched to the loading area of the S.KO COOL. Issues such as optimal aerodynamic air distribution, a high level of ventilation and refrigeration capacity with a low degree of evaporator icing, good access to the equipment for servicing, an innovative temperature control system, low weight, dirt-resistant cladding, etc. were included in the specification and were implemented. The refrigeration unit was subjected to comprehensive testing for lasting and flawless operation at the in-house Cargobull Validation Test Centre.
New: In the future the S.KO COOL will be able to be fitted with a new, folding circulation wall. In comparison with a fixed circulation wall, the folding version can be opened quickly and simply. Most notably, this saves a great deal of time when the circulation wall has to be opened for the annual calibration of the front temperature sensor or for cleaning. With the folding design both hygiene-related and general regulations, such as ATP and HACCP, can be observed more simply and speedily.
Another new feature is the tank sensor for the refrigeration unit's fuel tank. On standard tank sensors which use a floating arm, the display and reading of the filling level are often very inaccurate. At the transport logistic exhibition Schmitz Cargobull will present a new measuring system which enables a precise, purely electronic measurement of the filling level without any mechanical components. A clear visualisation is then possible through an LED display on the bulkhead which is connected to the new tank sensor. The various filling levels are marked in green and red so that it can be immediately recognised if and when refilling is necessary. If the vehicle is also fitted with the "TrailerConnect®" trailer telematics system, the customer can also display and evaluate the diesel tank level via the portal. Fuel thefts, which sadly occur very frequently, can be thus quickly recognised.

With its product, "TrailerConnect®" Cargobull Telematics, the fully-owned subsidiary company of Schmitz Cargobull, offers the fleet manager three portals for the various areas of application. Thus, Cargobull Telematics is the only provider of trailer telematics systems which offers its customers the target-group oriented services on a "one-stop solution" basis.

Especially for TrailerConnect® customers with small to medium-sized fleets: The user-friendly design of the new portal now features new functions and technologies.
2. TelematicOne - Consolidation platform
This portal is particularly advantageous to logistics companies with large, uniform fleets. TelematicOne is a consolidation platform on which both the truck and the trailer telematics systems of various manufacturers are summarised in one portal. TelematicOne is a T-Systems product. Cargobull Telematics is the sales partner and was significantly involved in its design due to its knowledge of the industry.
3. Fleet4You® - Prize-winning service portal "Trailer Innovation 2013"
Through Fleet4You® the Schmitz Cargobull service companies, Cargobull Parts & Services and Cargobull Telematics, have created an integrated service portal. Technical information on the vehicles flow from the trailer telematics system directly to the workshop processing software. The close exchange of data thus combines two recognised top-value service worlds into a common system. The customer saves time and receives cost transparency for his trailer fleet in terms of repair and maintenance for each kilometre travelled at the press of a button. Through the monitoring of the technical equipment the fleet manager also receives automatic recommendations for action to be taken for repair and maintenance. This avoids breakdowns and generates a high level of availability for the vehicles.
In addition to the continuous on-going development of the range of telematics portals Cargobull Telematics will be providing a wealth of new data and information from the field of temperature and refrigeration unit monitoring at the exhibition. This also covers two-way communication. This means that the temperature data are not only visible in the portal but can also be actively remotely controlled. These data and functions provide the customer with important and extensive possibilities for working efficiently and avoiding damage to the load.
Also new in the "TrailerConnect®" trailer telematics system is the semitrailer tractor recognition system: RFID makes it possible. The transmitter can be quickly and easily fitted to the trailer bulkhead and the receiver to the semitrailer tractor. The data can be read off and assigned via the TrailerConnect® portal. Thus, a clear connection between the semitrailer tractor and the trailer is recognisable.
