New compact microphone amplifier by SCHOEPS
With a length of only 39 mm (ca. 1½ inches), the CMC 1 is ideal for all applications in which the small size of the microphone plays a role. It has a standard XLR-3M output connector and can be combined with all other components of the Colette system, including “MK” capsules as well as active accessories such as filters and “RC” extension tubes.
The CMC 1 is the ideal microphone for use on a boom or on the concert stage, but not only because of its small size; its technical performance is also fully equal to the existing top model CMC 6. As the result of intensive, modern electronic design, it has even proved possible to improve some specifications: The CMC 1 has an especially high maximum SPL (e.g. 135 dB-SPL when used with the MK 4 capsule), and it consumes very little current (2 mA with P48 powering). The output impedance is remarkably constant across the frequency range, and especially important—particularly for use with wireless systems—is the Schoeps RFI Shield, which offers reliable suppression of radio-frequency interference.
A wide range of accessories for the CMC 1 will be available from day one, including the custom-developed CINELA E-OSIX-CMC1 shock mount and COSI-CMC1U miniature basket-type windscreen, as well as the Rycote INV-6 and WS-9.
The CMC 1 thus offers a modular alternative to the existing CCM series, which remains the smallest and lightest-weight fully professional condenser microphones in the world. The CMC 1 U will be available starting in October at a list price of € 679 or $849.
