SATLOG, a German Fleet Management solution provider, announced today the availability of it's next generation product. Based around the Vector 300 Windows CE based open Telematics platform from New Zealand company Prolificx, this enabled SATLOG integrate its existing and proven Oracle Portal Platform with an Oracle Lite database running in the Telematics device.

Using the inbuilt GPRS communications in the Vector 300, the Oracle Lite software manages all communications and data synchronisation to the server side. In the time between reporting intervals or when GPRS is absent, data is stored in the on-board Oracle Lite database on the Vector 300.

Oracle Consulting has developed an application logic which enables the remote configuration of the system on per vehicle basis for GPS tracking interval, synchronization interval and many other operation parameters. The software is able to read sensor data, filter it according to business rules and dispatches the data e.g. to the Oracle Lite Database, to the Application Server in the backend or to webservices.

In addition, GPS data can be streamed to in-vehicle navigation devices using the Vector 300's onboard Bluetooth or Serial ports. Ready to use driver interfaces for order management are already developed.

SATLOG also announced today its ELPRO temperature logging device for trailers which is fully integrated into the Fleet Management system and communicates to the Telematics unit via Bluetooth. Temperature data in the trailer is continuously monitored and communicated to the Satlog Server thus enabling temperature alerts to be monitored from any internet browser.

For system integration companies SATLOG offers a Telematics Integrators Kit ( which includes one day of training, hardware and one years usage of the SATLOG Portal) to enable customers or system integrators to ensure they can get a live solution running in the shortest possible time.

"We are pleased to announce the new system which comprises a range of building blocks which can be easily adapted to specific company requirements. Telematics is now entering a phase where without programming, the end customer can get a tailor made system which delivers specific and measurable benefits for an individual fleet. With the support of MAP24 we are now able to provide high speed internet vehicle tracking on maps for West- and Eastern Europe, North America, South America, Near East, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa".
