Sale of complete shareholding / Buyers are regional energy utilities and the City of Koblenz

RWE today sold its 57.5 percent share in Koblenzer Elektrizitätswerk und Verkehrs- Aktiengesellschaft (KEVAG) to EKO2 GmbH. In addition to the City of Koblenz and Stadtwerke Koblenz GmbH, Thüga AG as well as energy investment company Mittelrhein GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Energieversorgung Mittelrhein GmbH, are parties to the sale. The sale price is approx. € 220 million.

In 2011, RWE announced that sales of shareholdings in regional utilities were part of the comprehensive package of measures designed to strengthen the Group's capital base and expand its financial leeway for future growth.
