RTX shows benefits of DECT Ultra Low Energy gateways at Smart Homes 2011

(PresseBox) (Noerresundby, ) RTX, a leading provider of wireless communications solutions, has today announced that it will demonstrate the addition of DECT ULE (Ultra Low Energy) capabilities to its gateway products at SmartHomes 2011, between 4-6 October at the RAI Centre, Amsterdam, Netherlands.

At the show RTX will share stand SH57 with Dialog Semiconductor plc (FWB: DLG), a provider of integrated power management, audio and short-range wireless technologies and showcase its DECT ULE firmware running on Dialog's range of DECT ULE chipsets including the newly announced range of SmartPulse(TM) devices.

RTX is a co-founder of DECT ULE and with a chairing position in the DECT Forum and as a significant member of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), the company has been material in defining this specification. DECT ULE complements RTX's low-power wireless expertise within several key standards, including 802.15.4, Bluetooth, 6LoWPAN and low-power Wi-Fi.

Jesper Mailind, CEO RTX, commented, "RTX is an expert in DECT ULE technology, which we have developed in recent years. We are the go-to company for these types of applications. Our 18-plus years of expertise within experience of TDMA radio access technology a perfect combination for the development of all types of sensor applications."

"This expertise allows us to achieve industry leading current consumption and highly reliable wireless links, fulfilling almost any combination of ultra low power, range or speed requirements."

Earlier this month, Dialog Semiconductor launched its SmartPulse range, the world's first family of IC-based devices interoperable with the DECT ULE wireless standard. SmartPulse has been created for home automation, healthcare, security and energy monitoring consumer applications. Products integrating SmartPulse wireless sensors self-configure to connect with a home's DECT ULE-enabled hub device or IP gateway.
