Zeus Technology to provide High-performance, Energy Efficient Application Delivery Appliances in Collaboration with Sun Microsystems

Santa Clara, California, (PresseBox) - Zeus Technology, a leading provider of application delivery software, today announced it has selected hardware from Sun Microsystems on which it will deliver high performance, compact, energy efficient appliances based on Sun Fire(TM) X2200 M2 and Sun Fire X4100 M2 servers to Zeus customers worldwide.

Under the agreement, Zeus will sell selected Sun(TM) appliances fully integrated with ZXTM (Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager), Zeus' high-performance application delivery solution. The agreement is supported by a Sun OEM Services agreement which enables Zeus' customers to benefit from hardware support with a choice of response times depending on their specific business needs.

Available Appliances

- The ZXTM 3000 LB appliance is based on a Sun Fire X2200 M2 server. It includes Zeus' ZXTM Load Balancer software and is ideal for organizations who require a powerful, high-performance load balancing solution

- The ZXTM 3000 and ZXTM 8000 appliances are based on Sun Fire X2200 M2 and Sun Fire X4100 M2 servers and include Zeus' ZXTM 5.0 Application Delivery software. These appliances offer a wide range of traffic management capabilities at two different performance/price points. They are ideal for enterprises with sophisticated application delivery requirements.

A cluster of 2 ZXTM 8000 appliances can deliver over 5 Gbits of application traffic, and throughput scales linearly as further nodes are added to the cluster.
