Rhenus Midi Data Moves into New Terminal for High-Tech Logistics in Stuttgart-Weilimdorf
"In addition to integrating the new facility within our own distribution network, the enlargement of capacity connected to the move within Stuttgart will allow us to make use of larger space for our wide-ranging technical services," says Michael Boos from Rhenus Midi Data GmbH. Thomas Gerling, who jointly manages the company with Michael Boos, adds: "Our pre-assembly and pre-installation services and our field services in particular will benefit from the ideal conditions at the new logistics terminal."
The facility, which is very close to the old terminal in Stuttgart, is an excellent location for transport purposes with a direct link to the A 81 motorway. "The new square footage that we are taking over meets the highest technical standards and quite naturally includes the security aspects that our customers expect in this sector," Michael Boos underlines. "For example, we have set up separate areas, which we require in order to be able to carefully handle high-tech products and their electrostatic discharge in a fail-safe way," says Thomas Gerling, quoting one example.
The Stuttgart business centre with its improved facilities will provide an important connecting function within the TecDis European distribution network, which is managed by Rhenus Midi Data. The high-tech logistics services provider was incorporated into the Rhenus Group as a specialist service company as part of the takeover of the continental European business activities of Wincanton at the beginning of 2012.
