Rapid Technic AG - The astounding new Rapid ORBITO

Killwangen, (PresseBox) - Rapid presented the new Rapid ORBITO single-axle walk-behind tractor at Agrama in Berne. The new single-axle walk-behind tractor with continuously variable hydraulic travel drive is the company's latest top-of-the-range product.

Using the newly designed ergonomic cockpit, the driver need simply press a button to adjust the axle and therefore the machine combination's centre of gravity during travel. The driver can also switch between hand lever and handlebar steering at the touch of a button. The astounding thing is that the handlebar steering uses sensors integrated in the handlebar. A second dead man function integrated in the proven Rapid rotary grip allows the machine to be temporarily driven with just the left or right hand. Even with all these new functions, the handlebar can of course be swivelled and its height adjusted without the need for tools. Turning manoeuvres which don't destroy the soil structure are also possible thanks to the zero-turn steering. Additional hydraulics which can also be operated from the cockpit drive two dual-action control units to easily adapt attachments to the prevailing situation.

The Rapid ORBITO is designed especially for work with heavy equipment (such as mulchers, snow throwers, rotary harrows, stone buriers, broad gauge mowers, etc.) by local authorities, horticulture, vegetable gardening and landscaping firms and agriculture. The product will be available from 2013.
