IONA’s Leadership Recognized by Current Analysis

Report gives IONA high-marks for vision and momentum based on recent acquisitions, product introductions and expansion of open source business

Griesheim, (PresseBox) - IONA® Technologies (NASDAQ: IONA) a world leader in distributed service-oriented architecture (SOA) infrastructure solutions for performance demanding IT environments was recognized by leading industry analyst firm Current Analysis as a tier-1 application infrastructure vendor with positive vision and momentum. In a Company Assessment report published July 11, 2007, Current Analysis acknowledged the positive impact on IONA and the market that resulted from the company’s recent acquisitions of C24 (press release March 6, 2007) and LogicBlaze (press release April 10, 2007), and the introduction of Artix™ Registry/Repository (press release March 26, 2007), Artix 5 (press release June 11, 2007), and FUSE™ (press release July 9, 2007).

According to the report, Current Analysis is, “…taking a positive stance on IONA as an application infrastructure provider as it seeks to capitalize upon its open source efforts and expand its Artix product family through acquisition and internal development.” Commenting specifically on the acquisition of C24 and the introduction of Artix Registry/Repository, the report states that, “Taken together with the company’s recent recreation of its open source product line and Artix upgrade (version 5), these moves give IONA a very capable and comprehensive SOA suite targeting ESB integration use cases.”

The assessment also notes that IONA’s acquisition of LogicBlaze and subsequent launch of the FUSE open source products, “…will help IONA forward its hybrid closed and open source infrastructure agenda through ties to its Artix product line.” The report goes on to say, “…taken together with LogicBlaze, the company has gained considerable credibility within the open source industry, primarily through strong committer and leader involvement in numerous Apache projects.”
