OPC Unified Architecture presentation

(PresseBox) ( Garching, )
In factory automation as well as in process automation OPC is an established and accepted standard. With the development of the OPC Unified Architecture the OPC Foundation consequently follows its goal: "Interoperability in Automation". OPC UA integrates the already widely adopted OPC Services like for instance Data Access and Alarms & Events into one universal architecture and therefore simplifies its application. The platform independency enables the deployment of OPC UA in various scenarios - ranging from field devices to enterprise level.

In order to provide the jumpstart to quickly become proficient with the OPC Unified Architecture and to communicate interesting details about this future technology, the OPC Foundation to-gether with the Institute for Information technology (itm, Prof. Bender) of the University Munich hosts the 3-day international OPC UA conference OPC DevCon 2006 from 10. - 12. October 2006. In these three days the participants have the golden opportunity to get an overview of the technology, the components and the specification. A deep insight into the base technologies pro-vides extensive know-how and the concluding discussion forum with the OPC experts rounds out the program.
