Procon raises sales in 2008 to EUR 105.3 million

Gross result raises to EUR 22.3 million

In fiscal year 2008, PROCON MultiMedia AG (ISIN: DE0005122006, Prime Standard), an internationally leading full-service provider of technical equipment for events, film and TV productions, was able to increase its sales by 13.4 % to EUR 105.3 million - the highest sales in the company's history. The gross result rose from EUR 19.9 million to EUR 22.3 million.

The operating result amounts to EUR 5.4 million in fiscal year 2008, the earnings before taxes to EUR 2.4 million. Based on the first-time capitalisation of deferred tax assets, the annual result increased from EUR 1.9 million to EUR 6.1 million. As a result, earnings per share amount to EUR 0.31 (previous year EUR 0.19 per share).

In the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2008, sales increased by 5 % to EUR 26.7 million compared to the fourth quarter of the previous year. EBITDA of the fourth quarter of 2008 amounts to EUR 4.9 million (previous year EUR 4.5 million).

Although the first signs of the financial crisis became apparent since the middle of the year, the fiscal year 2008 continued very successfully for Procon. Due to the current market environment, it is not possible to forecast the course of the year 2009. At EUR 13.0 million, orders on hand at the end of the year exceed the previous year's EUR 11.4 million, but the validity of this information is limited.

Projects served by Procon in the first quarter of 2008 have included amongst others: the Echo Awards, the TV-Show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (German Pop Idol), the opening ceremony of the new headquarters of the Olympic Council of Asia in Kuwait as well as numerous international exhibition stands, e.g. at the international motor show in Geneva. At present, Procon is working for the film project "Ghost" and the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow.
