PRO-JECT AUDIO SYSTEMS - the leading maker of audiophile turntables - introduces a new statement among budget audiophile turntables

(PresseBox) ( Wien, )
The original DEBUT turntable, introduced in the late 1990s, was a revolution for the hi-fi industry. For the first time after the arrival of Compact Disc and the assumed demise of vinyl records, an analogue product re-emerged in the "mass market" - something all music lovers could afford.

The appearance of the DEBUT was the turning point in the descent of the vinyl LP. From then onward, the analogue market grew consistently, both in equipment and LP sales. The DEBUT was just what the people wanted: a simple-to-use, great-looking and wonderful-sounding turntable to play again the analogue jewels the customer had put into storage at home. Above all, it was also "cost friendly" in respect to its audiophile grade performance.

Up the present, the DEBUT was sold several hundred-thousand examples in different versions and colours, and has become the entry-level standard in most hi-fi and electronic shops worldwide.

Different colours even transformed the DEBUT into a lifestyle gadget product, appearing as a photo "star" in lifestyle design magazines including VOGUE and ELLE, and design catalogues such as CONRAN. The DEBUT is an objet d'art, one displayed in the MAK Museum for Contemporary Art in Vienna.

The DEBUT Carbon has been designed to set new standards in this category for the coming decade - perfectly timed as analogue today is again a respected source, while the demand for good turntables is growing again!!!

The most obvious improvement is the inclusion of a CARBON TUBE for the tone arm, which increases stiffness and decreases unwanted resonance. This material is extensively used in high-end tonearms, but - because of cost reasons - was never used in products at lower price levels.

Other improvements include an increase in platter size and weight to realise even smoother rotation without any wow and flutter. The motor suspension is a completely new design conceived to reduce the flow of motor resonance to the plinth. PRO-JECT now uses an addition to the traditional 4-point "O" ring suspension, two isolation feet made of Sorbothane - again, a material up to now used only in very sophisticated turntables.

A detail that addresses our audiophile customers' needs for flexibility is the fitting to the DEBUT CARBON of high quality RCA connection terminals, which allow the user to experiment with and upgrade to better cables. The new Carbon Arm, motor suspension and heavy platter propel the DEBUT CARBON into a another league of sound quality.

To better serve all of these performance gains, we have chosen to fit as the standard cartridge superior models never before offered in a budget turntable. The customer now has the choice of an excellent ORTOFON OM 10 for retail €299 (inc VAT) or of a true "high end" pick-up, the ORTOFON 2M RED for astonishing €349.

Additionally, there will be a version with PHONOSTAGE and USB D/A Converter on-board for customers who have either no phono input on their hi-fi system or want to upload their LPs to a computer.

The DEBUT CARBON will be offered in high-gloss black or shiny red, green, blue, yellow, silver or white as no-added-cost option.

We believe that the DEBUT CARBON, with its beautiful sound and handsome styling, will provide even more customers with the pure joy of experiencing realistically life-like sound reproduction of the music offered only by the vinyl LP.

That's why we founded our company, PRO-JECT AUDIO!
